Reinforced concrete beam design
In residential construction, reinforced concrete beams are used as much below ground level as above it. However, reinforced concrete is a very strong and very versatile material. It also has excellent fire resistance. It can be easily cast to almost any shape. As a result, this type of beam is often used to help create some kind of feature. Our reinforced concrete beam design will provide you with all the information you need.
We can also check an existing beam, but to do this we will need to know the size of the beam and details of the reinforcement.
If you need a bending schedule for the steel reinforcement, we can also provide this.
We need the following information for a reinforced concrete beam design
architectural layouts so we can work out all the loadings on the beam
construction details (concrete or timber floors, brick or block supporting walls etc)
details of any restrictions on the maximum depth of the beam
Design information
All designs are carried out in accordance with BS 8110
The calculations provided will be suitable for Building Regulation approval.
